Boho Room that’s Soooooooooo Me

I could live here and not change a single thing. Seriously. 24-7, forever and a day.

Blame lawyer-turned designer Breeze Giannasio for all the boho-chic beautifulness here. In case you can’t get enough of this diabolically gorgeous room, drool over the photo above, then move on to the side view below…

Breeze Giannasio

This Washington, D. C., boho row house has been featured in House & Home, in Modern Luxury DC, and on Apartment Therapy. Which is to say it’s been around for nearly two years and I’m only recently taking it in. I saw it on Houzz months ago, filed it away in one of my ideabooks and promptly forgot about it, only to rediscover it, in jaw-dropping awe, a few days ago. Where has my head been?

I love the mix of textiles used: the bright and free-wheeling suzani tapestry, the ethnic ikat lumbar pillows, the bold geometric square pillows, a plush velvet sofa, the faded oriental rug, and a furry stool.
The mix of hard materials is pretty great, too: dark woods, warm metals, marble, and Lucite. Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah, some whimsical shed antlers and my most-favorite-of-all-time flower, a Burmese ruby peony. Just one in a vase whose squat shape echoes the portly bloom. Perfect!!

And look how all that color pops against those pale gray walls!

You can see more photos of this home and of Breeze’s interior design work on her website. If you like this look as much as I do, you can always hire her to get it for you. But if that’s not in your budget (just as it isn’t in mine!), here are some suggestions about how and where to get the look on your own.
