Put Some Boho SPRING in Your Step

Everyone’s favorite groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did NOT see his shadow last week, so preparations for spring are in order. Even in you don’t go by the groundhog, spring will be here before you know it.

And what better way to brace yourself for what’s left of Old Man Winter than some bright, cheery garb for your home? That way, if the weather keeps you in for a few weeks more, you’re sure to have plenty to look at and enjoy.<

Cost Plus World Market’s 2016 spring catalog is just out, and it’s bursting with new boho- and midcentury modern-inspired “brights.” Plus, many items are on sale through Feb. 15, which means Valentine’s Day wishlist-ready.

Here’s what caught my eye for the living room…

Jessica Print Zelda Sofa, $649.99, now $549.99; Raspberry Xander Armchair, $329.99, now $279.99; Wood and Metal Multi-Level Coffee Table, $249.99; Chartreuse Green Finnegan Wingback Chair, $399.99, now $219.99; Ikat Tufted Foley Area Rug, $299.99, now $239.99; Walnut Brown Ashlyn Bookshelf, $279.99; Sapphire Harbin Accent Table, $99.99.

That sofa is just too beautiful for words! And I love it paired with the purple rug. If you look closely at the sofa print, it’s mostly indigo and magenta, but since indigo + magenta = purple, the rug goes blends without being too matchy.

And dig these fun accessories…

  1. Hand-painted Globe with Wood Stand, $39.99; Metal Globe with Wood Stand, $29.99, now $17.99; Gray Globe with Marble Stand, $39.99, now $23.99.
  2. Marble Discs on Stands, $24.99-$34.99, now $14.99-$20.99; Gray & White Marble Pillar Candle, $8.99; Faux Agate Rectangular Tray, $34.99.
  3. Metal Woven Chindi Chair, $169.99; Bajot Stool with Sari Pouf, $159.99; Embroidered Sari Patchwork Floor Cushion, $69.99.
  4. Woven Stripe Cassia Table Linens, $15.96-$24.99; Round Mossy Table Mats, $7.99-$14.99; Indigo Stripe Throw with Fringe, $34.99.

Those three globes grouped together would be cute beyond words; I absolutely love how the materials switch out from one to the next. And how about one of those trays used on a coffee table with the Harbin accent table nearby? Dynamite!

I’ve never seen anything like those mossy table mats, which also come in a runner for $39.99. Don’t worry: they’re constructed of man-made materials, so no “sifting” like real moss. They’d be cute as a button paired with Easter décor, but also just plain fun to add a natural note to every day. Who doesn’t need a shot of green in their life this time of year?
