This leggy furniture is just the thing to add a bit of quirk to your boho home’s décor. It’s by Ad Hoc, a furniture and accessories workshop whose goods reflect its native Mexico’s artisan legacy and materials.
I love the beauty of the handcrafted wood, as well as the collection’s clean, midcentury-modern lines. The one turned leg and mashup of aniline lacquer accents makes me smile every time I look at these pieces. They’re truly destined to become modern-day classics.
She’s made of tzalam wood and red cedar. A gray, mirrored tray-type shelf is positioned on the crossbraces for additional display. How do I know it’s a she? Just trust me.

Cantina would make the most PERFECT bar cabinet, don’t you think? She sure has ME singing. Mad Men, eat your heart out!

Sold as a set for use as a coffee table, each one of the three tables is fashioned in a different wood—banak, red cedar, and tzalam—and can be used separately or grouped.

Like Cantina, each table has one carved leg. The design of the turnings is based on a molnillo—a traditional Mexican chocolate whisk.

Largo is made of poplar and would make a great serving sideboard in a dining room, don’t you think?

These high-top stools are made of tzalam and accented with aniline lacquers.

Wait-wait, there’s more…
The Ad Hoc collection also includes some mainstream midcentury pieces (translation: no funk factor but still drop-dead gorgeous).

The tzalam-wood
N|N credenza is long and low and tricked out with smoked glass. It would be beautiful in an office or as a media center if you’re lucky enough to have that one long wall to fill.

Librero is made of huanacaxtle wood and is an uber-stylish vehicle for displaying your books and what-nots.
There are some ‘leggy’ lights, too…

Finally, there’s the Plywood collection
 |

But it doesn’t look like any plywood I’ve ever seen. The tray, trivets, desk light and tall cup are startling reinterpretations of common construction materials fashioned and finished to show off their naked beauty in simple forms.
