Not the former supermodel turned mogul Kathy Ireland (though she has her fingers in home decor, too). This is the Santa Monica, California, home of Kathryn M. Ireland, an interior designer included in the Elle Decor A-List and House Beautiful Top 100. And her home is a stunning mish-mash of eclectic, global, boho love.
She’s also one of the world foremost fabric designers, and the 19th century Uzbek suzani hanging above her living sofa was the inspiration for her first-ever fabric design, Safi Suzani, pictured below:
She’s used many of her own fabric designs in her home, which she purchased from actor Tobey Maguire in 2018. The space doubles as her office and studio.

…while the slipcover fabrics on flanking chairs are from Otis Textiles, a collection her son designed that combines both their tastes.
Ireland designed the tufted sofa and hand-hammered iron-canopy bed in her bedroom, and the raffia bed curtains are also done in one of her fabrics. I love the red and pink uplifted by all the white and cream.
In another bedroom, the barley-twist bed she designed is topped with fabric from her Indian collection. She also designed the pillow and curtain fabrics. I love how the shades of blue work together, as well as how the bedside bouquet of hydrangeas eches the sky of the top painting in the corner.
Another barley-twist curtained bed, but this one sports a happy suzani pattern, which is reversed in the wallpaper.
And in yet another bedroom, a fringed half-tester bed combines subtle reds and pinks with creams and whites again.
The powder room features a hand-printed wallpaper, also part of Ireland’s line.
The built-in stucco sectional in her outdoor lounge are filled with cushions in fabrics from her custom outdoor collection, and the table is from her French Finds collection.
The lounge overlooks the pool, reminiscent of a Moroccan riad. Ireland’s studio is to the left.
